Residents at Springbank of Plainfield are fortunate to be a part of Plainfield School District 202, which is committed to providing comprehensive, high-quality education in a trusting, supportive environment. Today we wanted to highlight the current middle school that Springbank residents attend: Aux Sable Middle School.
Aux Sable Middle School is located at 2001 Wildspring Parkway in Joliet, less than 10 minutes away from Springbank and right near Plainfield South High School. According to the mission statement, Aux Sable School believes in creating a safe and positive learning environment in which we will affect change through the development of learning, practice of citizenship, respect of diversity, compassion and involvement through lifelong learning.
Aux Sable Middle School works to be a place where each student can achieve his or her maximum level of potential. In addition to regular and accelerated programs of language arts, math, social studies and science, they offer band, choir, and an Encore program that includes applied technology/industrial arts/computers, family and consumer sciences, music, and art. Also, students have the option of participating in several clubs, activities, and sports.
Aux Sable students are proud to be Bulldogs, with school colors of Black, Silver, and Green. In addition to clubs and activities, the school offers tons of fun, educational, inspiring events throughout the year. In 2015/2016, they hosted a Hoops for Heart to raise money for the American Heart Association and had several interesting speakers, including a holocaust survivor, author Nancy Cavanaugh, and Jarrett Payton, the son of Walter Payton.
