Residents at Springbank of Plainfield are fortunate to be a part of Plainfield School District 202, which is committed to providing comprehensive, high-quality education in a trusting, supportive environment. Today we wanted to highlight the current elementary school that Springbank residents attend: Thomas Jefferson Elementary School.

Thomas Jefferson is located at 1900 Oxford Way in Joliet, IL, just over 10 minutes from Springbank of Plainfield. Also, parents of younger children will appreciate the convenience of a new elementary school opening soon within the community. (District 202 has not yet determined the actual date for the opening of the on-site school.)

Thomas Jefferson Elementary School offers a comprehensive, high-quality education in a trusting, supportive environment. Education is seen as a partnership, so parent support and involvement is highly encouraged in the school and in related organizations. They offer a great literacy curriculum and reading specialists, math, social studies, and science. And Plainfield schools are fortunate to have art, music, and physical education specialists in the elementary programs.

Thomas Jefferson students are proud to be the Patriots, with school colors of blue and orange. The school has a very active PTO that plans fun events and fundraisers throughout the year, like Back to School Movie Night. All school activities last year included a Tommy Hawk the Blackhawks mascot visit, a great summer reading program, and special grade focus events like Kindergarten Character Counts Buddies Day, Third grade earthquake-proof toothpick structure building, Fifth grade Will County history day, and more.
