Residents at Springbank of Plainfield are fortunate to be a part of Plainfield School District 202, which is committed to providing comprehensive, high-quality education in a trusting, supportive environment. Today we wanted to highlight the current high school that Springbank residents attend: Plainfield South High School, 7800 Caton Farm Rd., Plainfield, IL.
Plainfield South High School’s mission is to empower all learners to contribute and succeed in a changing world. At PSHS, your student will learn to be positive, be respectful, and be involved. The school offers a great academic and extracurricular program for all students. PSHS is the second of four high schools in Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202.
The school opened its doors in 2001, and it consists of 200 classrooms, a competition gymnasium, fieldhouse, auditorium, media center, state of the art technology, cafeteria and commons area. Outdoor facilities include a 4000 seat stadium, baseball and softball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts and an all weather track.
Plainfield South students are proud to be the Cougars, with school colors Navy Blue and White. When new freshman arrive at the school, they are welcomed by the Plainfield South Leadership Corps with games, building tours, and a chance to answer questions. The school is packed with extracurricular opportunities, community and volunteer opportunities, and special events—in 2016 they hosted a Hoops for Heart to raise money for the American Heart Association, Windy City Live visited and featured Plainfield South High School cheer and dance teams, and more.
